Senior Executive Officer in the Oil Section of the Ministry of Oil and Energy, Oslo. Responsible for the evaluation of applications for the development and operation of oil fields in the North Sea. Main field responsibility for the Oseberg field. Government observer in the Oseberg Management Committee.

Assistant Manager in the Oilsection of Den norske Creditbank. Responsible for a portfolio of oil related companies. (Key account manager) Responsibilities included marketing of the banks total product range to the customer as well as being the customers' main contact in the bank. Responsibilities included credit presentations for the banks Main Credit Committee.

Portfolio Manager in Internasjonal Formuesforvaltning. IF was a fund management company controlled by Leon Bodd and Sparebanken Rogaland. Responsible for the investment decisions in the mutual fund called I-AMS. (Now merged with the Avanse funds).

Executive Officer in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Attached to the office responsible for the multilateral trade negotiations in Geneva. Responsible for the Norwegian co-ordination of the Trade in Services negotiations in the Uruguay Round of the GATT negotiations.
1993-1996
Embassy secretary with the Norwegian Embassy in Singapore. The embassy was also accredited to Brunei and Myanmar (Burma). Responsibilities included trade promotion, political and economic reports, press, culture, maritime and consular issues as well as administration.
Singapore has a sizeable Norwegian business community and a good part of my work was related to assisting Norwegian industry in Asia. The embassy was active in promoting co-operation between government and business in the acquisition of new markets in Asia. Norwegian business in Singapore has established the Norwegian Business Association. Worked close with this organization to organize seminars and trade delegations. Frequent travels to Myanmar and Brunei has given a good understanding of these countries.
1996-1999
Embassy secretary with the Norwegian Embassy in Bonn, later Berlin. First part of the assignment attached to the press section, later the section for Economics. Responsibilities included organizing press delegations to Norway, reporting on economic, monetary and social issues with a special responsibility for the preparations for the Norwegian participation on EXPO 2000. Functioned as a secretary for the Norwegian Business Council (Næringsrådet) in Germany with members from industry, embassy and the different trade promotion agencies. Organized seminars and events on locations all over Germany.
2000-2003
Senior adviser trade and industry policy, Norwegian Trade Council. Member of the management team and secretary to the Board of Directors. Responsibilities include strategic planning, preparations of board meetings, government relations and reporting, questions related to Human Rights and Corruption, maintaining relations with various authorities and industry associations as well as designing and implementing seminars on various topics.
